it was an amazing time yesterday the the Dubai Palladium where an independently organized TED event took place. The theme was DREAM/DO/BE. Close to a thousand dreamers, thinkers, wishers and wannabes came out for an intense day of sparkling presentations from a varied selection of national, international and locally based people with ideas, and dreams that have been realized in one way or another. From a 13 year old award winning animator to a middle aged oxidental protector of copyrights (please visit creative commons.org) there was much on offer.
a day later and i’m still buzzing and have the idea for my first book burning in the embers in the back of my mind. Amazing the sparks that can come from a good conference, even if it is only 1 day long. Kudos to the organizers and the presenters.
If you don’t know about TED you’re not too late. Their mantra is, “ideas worth spreading”. my all time favourite TEDtalk is this one by Sir Ken Robinson. i first heard of TED through a link to this particular TEDtalk. It is for everyone who is a child, was a child or plans on having children.
